5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Indian Metis Friendship Centre
Three Students, Rayanna Hourie, Denby Mclean, Victoria Perrie attended the Indigenous Bar Association Conference in Toronto, and arranged to debrief and bring back to the community their thoughts and insights and give the community an opportunity for discussion. The discussion focused on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action: Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, and the role Treaty relationships play in these issues.
Ko’ona Cochrane emceed the evening, with IIWR-MB supporting the event with food.
There was an amazing turnout, given that we had the first heavy snowstorm of the winter that evening.
We hope to keep in touch with these students, and continue the dialogue.
