Advocacy Toolkit Launch – by Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan

Join us for the live launch of our new advocacy toolkit! This live launch will be opened by our special guest, human rights activist, journalist and award-winning author Sally Armstrong, who will share her thoughts on two decades of Canadian women’s advocacy in support of Afghan women. Our new toolkit is a resource that has been developed in consultation with civil society actors in Afghanistan, and is designed to help supporters speak up and act in defense of Afghan women’s rights at this critical time during and after the current Intra-Afghan peace talks. Our interactive workshop will also feature updates on the current situation in Afghanistan, explore what effective advocacy means for the people of Afghanistan, and provide opportunities to identify simple actions we can all take to support their cause.

Sally Armstrong – Human rights activist, journalist and award-winning author Sally Armstrong has covered stories about women and girls in zones of conflict all over the world. She’s a four-time winner of the Amnesty International Canada Media Award. She was named the Massey Lecturer for 2019. She is the recipient of ten honorary doctorate degrees and is an Officer of the Order of Canada.
