An interactive conversation with Senator Marilou McPhedran around her work with gender equality and what the next important steps are to achieving gender justice!
Senator McPhedran is a social justice warrior, join us to hear about her work gender justice, she has been recognized for her leadership in the campaign for stronger equality protections in Canada. She works to develop systemic and sustainable change mechanisms to promote equality and diversity, including co-founding LEAF, METRAC, and the Gerstein Crisis Centre for homeless discharged psychiatric patients.
From 2008 to 2019, she was a tenured full professor at the University of Winnipeg. She was the founding director of the Institute for International Women’s Rights at Global College from 2009 to 2016 and the creator / director of the annual ‘Human Rights UniverCity’ summer institute based at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights from 2011 to 2018.
Appointed to the Senate of Canada in 2016 she continues to fight for Gender Equality
