A Conversation with Ivonne Yanez and Mirian Cisneros

Join KAIROS on Tuesday, September 15 @ 7:00pm EDT for a conversation with human rights and land defenders, Ivonne Yanez and Mirian Cisneros about climate justice and Indigenous resistance to fossil fuel extraction in Ecuador.

Ivonne Yanez is a founding member of Acción Ecológica, one of the most well-known and respected climate justice organizations in Latin America and also Oilwatch, an oil activities resistance network. Ivonne works on energy, climate change and, more recently, environmental services. She has been an active promoter of the Keep the Oil in the Soil campaign for many years, with Yasuni as the emblematic case.

Mirian Cisneros is a daughter of the Sarayaku Kichwa peoples and is the former president of the Sarayaku community.
