IIWR-MB hosted a “parallel event” during the  Commission on the Status of Women (CSW61) at the United Nations: Risks for Canadian Indigenous Women Transitioning to an Urban Environment. The focus of the panel reflected the CSW61’s priority theme: Women’s Economic Empowerment in the Changing World of Work, and the Emerging Issue, The Empowerment of Indigenous Women.

In 2017, IIWR-MB sent a delegation to the Commission on the Status of Women in New York.  As an organization with Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the UN,  IIWR-MB can lead a delegation to the Commission and host a parallel event.
