Presented by Cst Maria Buduhan and Cst Christine Welsh | Winnipeg Police Service
The United Nations Campaign to Eliminate Violence Against Women & Girls runs for 16 days beginning November 25 to December 10.
The term violence against women means any act of gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to results in physical, sexual or psychological harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts whether occurring in public or private life.
This presentation will discuss gender-based violence; women in Canada live at greater risk than men of domestic violence, sexual assault, harassment and sex trafficking.
This awareness needs to grow. More energy and action focused into solving the issue of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault through preventative and proactive measures is very much needed as this issue is everyone’s problem. Together, we can make a difference to end violence against women and girls.
Space is limited – Pre registration is required by calling (204) 477-1123. This is a women only event.
