Event Details

In this webinar presenters, Jennifer Koshan, Janet Mosher, and Wanda Wiegers will share their research providing a preliminary assessment of the extent to which Canada’s early responses to the COVID-19 pandemic prioritized the safety of women and children. They will examine government initiatives, court directives and judicial decisions in cases involving domestic violence and COVID-19, including the areas of family law, child welfare, and civil protection/ restraining orders. They will also identify areas for future research into how the law should respond to the ongoing shadow pandemic. Their research spans the period March 16, 2020 to June 1, 2020.

Following Jennifer Koshan, Janet Mosher, and Wanda Wiegers presentation, Paula Ediger and Zahra Hosseini will discuss the risks and safety concerns that come with COVID-19 protocols and what families have been experiencing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
