CSW 65 – Applications are open!

Applications for IIWR-MB’s delegation to attend the 65th Session of the meetings of the Commission on the Status of Women are now open. CSW 65 is taking place on a virtual platform from March 15-March 26, 2021

Please Note:

Participating in UNCSW is an incredible opportunity for IIWR-MB to contribute to the global dialogue regarding the status of women within the United Nations framework. We hope to host a parallel event, which gives support for local issues to be raised in a global context. These events also provide us with a platform for meeting with international partners and an opportunity to influence domestic policy in Canada, as federal ministers are in attendance at the session.

IIWR-MB’s delegation does NOT have a cap this year, meaning we can have more than 20 members participate.

Delegates do not have to attend the whole two weeks of the CSW (March 15-26). Generally, the first week of the CSW has the most activities and coming early to attend the Consultation Day is suggested for first timers. During the second week, the Agreed Conclusions are worked on and parallel events continue.

There is no expectation of travel to UNHQ in New York. All side events and parallel events will take place fully virtually.

To Apply:

Applications should include a completed registration form (click here to download: IIWR-MB – CSW65 Application Form) and a brief personal letter (100 words or less) describing why you want to be an IIWR-MB delegate to the 65th Session of the CSW.

If you have questions or want to apply, email Jessica da Silva, VP Diversity, at: diversity@iiwrmb.ca

The deadline for applications has been EXTENDED to Feb. 12, 2021. Early application is encouraged.
